Fall 2020 Field Rules & Covid-19 Protocols

FAQs & Guidelines

Please follow these guidelines for camps/training each day:

  • Take your child’s temperature before camp. If they have a fever or display any other symptoms for the Coronavirus, please stay home.
  • Wash and sanitize all equipment each day
  • Use bathroom and wash hands prior to and after attending camp
  • Supply your child with their own hand sanitizer
  • No sharing of food, water or equipment
  • No high-fives or handshakes
  • Notify coach if your player becomes ill
  • Parents must then remain in their cars and avoid gathering on the fields.

Please familiarize yourself with the CDC Considerations for Youth Sports and US Soccer Play On Guidelines.

In the event of Covid-19 symptoms or exposure, please follow the CDC guidelines here and highlighted below:

  • If you had, or think you had, Covid-19 and had symptoms, you can be with others after 3 days with no fever and, respiratory symptoms have improved, and 10 days since symptoms first appeared have passed.
  • If you tested positive for Covid-19 but had and continue to have no symptoms, you can be with others after 10 days have passed since the test.
  • If you have been in close contact with a person with Covid-19, you should stay home for 14 days after exposure based on the time it takes to develop illness. For more information on who should quarantine, please click here.

What happens if we have another suspension or cancellation?

For our recreational members, we will offer a prorated refund. Amounts would differ depending on the time of the season, how many weeks we were able to finish, etc.

For our Academy and Select members, we will stop all payment plans until we are able to start up again. If you paid in full, we would calculate a prorated amount. Once we are able to resume training, we would look to extend the season to make up for lost training and games. If we are able to do that, then all fees would be due.

Do I have to pay in full for Academy/Select? For our academy and select programs, we do offer payment plan options. Details are in your registration portal and may be opted into.
What will UFA be doing to keep our kids safe?

Player health and safety is, of course, on everyone’s mind and rest assured we will be following the Return To Play (RTP) Guidelines from US Youth Soccer. These guidelines are part of a longer document that we will email in another communication as well as making it available at the unitedfa.org website.

Will I need to sign a waiver to participate? We are asking all players to sign the new Covid-19 Waiver to participate in any summer programs. Please check your emails for details.
When do the free programs start? As soon as our counties allow us access to our fields, anticipated dates are June 15 for Forsyth, June 1 for Norcross/Lawrenceville and Mountains and June 13 for South Georgia.
Will I be practicing with the team I was on last season? During the Summer Season players will practice and play games within their age group.
During the summer, it can get very hot. Will we still train? UFA will constantly monitor the weather to ensure we are training within approved temperatures. We use US Soccer and county guidelines.
If my child has a health issue that comes about on the field, what is provided for emergencies? UFA Directors will have emergency contact numbers provided by the parent and, in case of emergency, we will alert the parent. If it is a true emergency, we will call 911 for emergency personnel to come to the field.
What is UFA’s plan in the event of a positive Covid-19 test result from a coach or player?

Coaches, players, and/or their families who contract or have been exposed to someone with Covid-19 symptoms or a confirmed or suspected case should notify UFA immediately and not return until they have met CDC’s criteria to discontinue home isolation.

UFA will notify coaches, players and families immediately of any case of Covid-19 while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)external icon and other applicable laws and regulations.

Will we get a refund?

For our recreational players, we are able to offer you a week-long camp as well as a 50% discount for the Fall or the Spring season. We are not offering refunds at this point in time but if we are able to offer anything additional to the camp and discount we will communicate that to you.

For our academy and select players, we are able to offer players a Summer Training program in addition to a week-long camp.  We are not offering refunds at this point in time but if we are able to offer anything additional to the camp and Summer Training, we will communicate that to you.

What if I cannot participate in the Recreational summer camp on the dates posted? UFA is offering a free camp during the Summer of 2020. If you are unable to attend this camp, we will be offering a 1-time per player Challenge Camp voucher to be used Summer 2020, Winter 2020/21, or Summer 2021. Please email nick@unitedfa.org if you will not be attending the camp we have added for Recreational players.
What are the plans to address the spring season? Please see our May 27th communications above about summer plans.
